Guy Gruwier is a well known Belgian watercolour artist who is coming to NZ for the first time. Guy uses the classical ‘old masters’ techniques to impart soft realism to his paintings. He is influenced by the Flemish impressionists like Emile Claus, who was called a ‘luminist’ after his ability to catch sunlight in his paintings. Guy continues his search for atmospheric subjects to go beyond the limits and barriers of the technique itself.

This will be an exciting three day workshop catering for Intermediate and Advanced students who are keen to learn new techniques from someone who paints and teaches predominently in Europe. Class numbers are limited and preference will be given to those attending for three days.

Further details and examples of Guy’s work can be found on www.watercolour.be.
