Ted Sherwen

Glassow born Ted Sherwen began as a young lithographic artist with one of Scotlands largest publishing houses.

The Sherwen family made New Zealand their home in 1974. Throughout the 1980’s Ted made several trips to the USA to study with the leading watercolourist Rex Brandt.

Since then Ted’s work has evolved and developed into a unique and easily recognisable style that has put him amongst the forefront of watercolourists living in New Zealand

With his 60 years painting experience Ted is returning to NZ Art Schools for the second time to share his wealth of knowledge and experience in this Beginners/Intermediate workshop.

This will be very much a “hands on” workshop with many techniques being taught. After each one is demonstrated, the class will have ample time to practice before the next “trick” is taught. Please dont be nervous if you are an absolute beginner as Ted’s ability, personality and techniques will lead you gently forward to new achievements and new results.
